Update

So I guess I will update you on what has been going on in my life. We had an amazing Halloween. Caleb dressed up as a Vampire, and I think he looked like the best one I have ever seen. We went and Trick or Treated in Dave's Mom's neighborhood. There were so many great houses to go to. There were 4 or 5 houses that were completely decorated with fog and real characters all over, some of them were actually pretty scary. I'm still not sure who had more fun me or Caleb.
The wedding planning is coming along slowly. I found my perfect dress in Las Vegas. I ended up putting it on layaway and should have it paid off by the end of November. We are planning a trip to Vegas with Dave's Mom and Step-Dad to pick it up and we are going to go play a little bit. The dress is spaghetti strap, white, it only has one place with beading and it is on the bodice that goes up to one of the straps. It is really hard to describe. My main focus with this wedding has always been the dress, since with my first wedding I didn't much care for my dress. I can't wait for my bridal pictures.
The next thing in our list of many to do's is Caleb's birthday. I can't believe that my baby is going to be 5 years old. I know everyone says it but it's true, time just flies by. Caleb celebrated his birthday with his Dad and the Peterson family last weekend, and we will do it with our family this upcoming weekend. We plan on doing it at either the house or the park, I will post pictures after it's over. He is so excited to be 5 years old. Dave will be making Caleb's cake, he has already put quite a bit of time figuring out what he wants to make. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I got a new job at a doctors office. Do hearing tests, and fit people with hearing aids, we mostly work with the elderly and since I have worked there I have a new appreciation for them. Not that I didn't appreciate them before, I just see a different side of it all now. I couldn't ask for a better job. I love my job, my boss and his wife are amazing people and have the kindest hearts. Well that's enough babbling from me. I will update after the birthday and post some pictures.

ENGAGED

Yup that's right, I'm engaged. I can't even begin to say how excited I am about it. Dave and I have been dating for almost a year. I had a suspician that it might happen soon, it really couldn't have been anymore perfect. Dave and I decided that we wanted to go camping over the Labor Day weekend, but it was supposed to be raining pretty bad down here, however we were going to tough it out and just pitch a tent, but the night before we were going to do it the storm was crazy hard and I chickened out. We ended up renting a cute cabin up in Pine Valley, it was so cozy. After we got up there and got settled we decided to go on a little hike, which didn't last too long because we thought it was going to rain and we were not prepared for that so we went back to the cabin and decided to cook dinner. I had made hobo dinners the night before. They were so yummy we just cooked them over the BBQ thingy :) There was a large family next to us that were pretty noisy but we did our best to ignore them and cooked smores that were super messy. Soon the sun was down and it was dark, the stars were out and there was a full moon. As soon as it got quiet Dave stood up and said I have something I want to talk to you about. He than got down on one knee and popped the question. I don't think that it could have been anymore perfect.

We have decided to get married on May 22,2010. There is so much planning to do and unfortunately I don't have anyone to really help me with it. I mean I have some of my family, but they are all up north and most of them pregnant and have their own planning to do, I am so excited for them though :) We have pinned down the location and the colors. I have decided that I am going to handmake all of the centerpieces and other decorations for it since we won't be able to afford to spend much. Dave and I came to the decision that we would like to keep it pretty small and only invite close family and friends.

We are going to get our engagement pictures done on Wednesday up in Pine Valley by a friend of mine that I think is amazing. I can't wait to see how they turn out, one of the locations is going to be the cabin that we got engaged at, should be pretty special. I can't wait, even though I hate having pictures of me taken. I will post some pictures when I get them.

Life in the slow lane...

We have officially hit our slow season at work and I am going absolutely crazy. I don't see much point to going into work when there is close to nothing to do. We have on average lately had 2 maybe 3 check in's a day, and there is only so much that you can do to keep yourself entertained, however, soon enough we are going to be so busy I am not going to know how to keep up. October is when the hotel picks up because we have the Senior games going on. There are already entire weeks that we are completely sold out. Should be fun. So until than I am just going to sit at work and imagine the busier days.LOL. I am however pretty excited for my trip up north on the 21st. I am going to see my brother and sister-in-law that just got back not too long ago from Australia so I am looking forward to that.
That is mostly what has been going on in my life. Caleb gets started in preschool starting on the 17th. He is pretty excited about that. He misses the deadline for Kindergarten this year, but I think that is probably a good thing. I would prefer him to be older in his class than younger, besides by than hopefully his attention span will have increased.
Dave is just working as usual, and taking care of Caleb while I am at work. Its been amazing to watch his relationship with Caleb grow everyday. He has done an amazing job at stepping into the Dad role. I am very proud of him for stepping up to the plate, even when he didn't have to.

Our 4th of July.

We all had a pretty great 4th of July. Caleb spent it with his Dad, who came down to St.George, and Dave and I spent our together for the most part. I don't know how I got lucky enough to get the weekend off but I did. Dave had to work until about 1, so I went to the park and hung out with his family who had a booth there selling popsicles, than went and picked Dave up after he got home from work. We had a double date planned for that evening. We met up at my house and had dinner than went and watched fireworks at the park and met up with another friend of ours and his girlfriend; after that was over we came back to our house and lit off some of our own. They were fireworks that I had gotten from my parents a couple of years ago and had forgotten that some of them were illegal. Oops...we lit a couple of them without realizing that they were. Oh well. Caleb spent the day at the park with his Dad, cousin Sami (his very best friend), Aunt Staci, Cousin Maddi, and Grandpa. I was walking around the park and ran into them which was fun. He had his face painted like a cheetah and was about to go play on all of the rides and water things they had there. He had a great time seeing all of them.

The weekend.

This weekend was pretty great. Caleb was going to go camping with some friends, but due to some objections from some people he did not end up going. He went and stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Peterson and with his favorite person in the entire world his cousin Sami. He spent lots and lots of time in the swimming pool and came home a bit sunburned. He luckily has not complained much, even though it looks rather painful. He had a blast and I don't think he minds too much. He came home Sunday night around 8pm and was so tired so we put him to bed around 9:30 and when I was ready to go to bed I popped my head in his room to check on him and he had rolled out of bed, which he does almost everynight. I picked him up and he says, in his sleep, "I have seen that already." (It always interests me what he is dreaming about), so I say " You've seen what before." he replies "That stuff." I say "What stuff" Caleb says "That lotion." I couldn't help but laugh. What in the world would a 4 year old be dreaming of lotion for? He cracks me up. He talks so much in his sleep we sometimes have to close both our door and his door, he will actually have full conversations in his sleep. One day I need to record it.
Anyway, I was supposed to work most of the weekend but ended up having some of it off so Dave and I went to dinner and a movie. We went and saw Transformers and loved it, there were some parts that we thought could have been done a little better, but other than that we enjoyed it. We have not been on a date or even seen each other much lately. I have been working 50 plus hours a week and we work opposite shifts so it was really nice to go on a date. Working opposite shifts sucks cause we don't get to see each other much but its good at the same time cause Caleb doesn't have to go to a sitter for very long and it saves money. Now I think we need to get a second car so that life will be easier. I'm not a huge fan of having to ride the bus to work. So that was our weekend. Now I can't wait for next weekend. I love fireworks!!

I know I know....

Once again I have not updated this like I should be. Well here goes on what has been going on. Dave, Caleb and I have moved into a new place back in April. It is a cute townhouse only about 3 blocks from the apartment that we were living in. Luckily our landlord at the apartment also owned this place and when it came available offered it to us because it was bigger and we needed the room, the one bedroom just was not cutting it. The rent was only about $200.00 more a month and it is so much bigger. Caleb has his own room and loves that. No more sleeping on an air mattress on the floor anymore in the same room as us. LOL. After we moved in Justin and I both decided that Caleb going back and forth between his two houses was just to hard on him, so we knew that we needed to decide who was going to have full custody of him. Luckily we came to the decision that it would be better for him to live down here with us, because he has more friends and family down here that he can spend time with. So far it has been amazing. I got a job working at one of the local hotels so he goes to a friend that watches him for a few hours in the afternoon until Dave gets off and can go and pick him up. On the weekends when I have to work he gets to go and spend it with Grandma and Grandpa Peterson which he absolutely loves. His best friend in the world is his cousin Sami. She is only about 9 months older than him so he couldn't be happier about that. I have been so thankful lately for the way everything has worked out. Caleb is growing so fast, and everything else seems to be falling in place for the most part. I am going up to Heber this upcoming weekend to see my family and Caleb is going to stay at his Dad's for the night. He can't wait for that.
As for me it just seems like I work all the time. The hotel that I work at got bought, and so everything seemed to change really quickly. I was afraid for a little bit that I was going to lose my job, but luckily they have chosen to keep me. They did however get rid of a couple of other people that were working here and so the two of us that they did keep are working very long weeks. I would rather have a job and have to work long weeks than not have a job and be in a mess again. So that's about it for me, and Dave well he is just plugging along working, working, and working. He has adapted to the change of having Caleb around all the time really well I have been impressed. He does such a great job with him.

Caleb

Caleb
I love this picture, because this is just exactly how he is. He is so cute, but he loves to goof off. He was playing football out in front of the house and wanted to show me his scary face, at least that is what he calls it. I think its hilarious.

Get together

Get together
I don't know how many of you remember or not but these are my foster parents from when I was 3. We still get together and talk alot. I think of them as my Grandparents because well thats how I have always thought of them. They are the sweetest people ever. I love going to see them. They live in Hurricane down by St.George. When we stopped by Caleb got to sit on their Shetlan pony, and see the chickens and other animals. We had fun.

Justin

I love this picture of Justin. Again we were down in St.George.

We went to Caleb's cousin's birthday party and Justin and Caleb played video games. I think Justin had more fun then anyone.

This is last fall down in St.George. We love going and visiting all of our family.

Caleb and almost all of his Uncles and Aunt.

Caleb was more interested in what was going on around him that getting the actual picture taken. This is the best one out of all of them.

Josh and Caleb

Josh and Caleb
This is the last picture that we had taken with Uncle Josh before he left on his mission. Yay only 5 months and he will be home. I don't think that he is going to recognize Caleb at all.

Caleb and Uncle Aaron

Caleb and Uncle Aaron
Aaron came and spent the day with us. Caleb wouldn't leave his poor uncle alone. I think Aaron was exhausted by the time he left our house.

Marnie

I got my hair done which is not something that I do very often so I was pretty excited about it.
